Infiniti G37 Navigation Update | Why Updating Isn't Enough

If you're trying to update the navigation on your Infiniti G37, you've probably discovered that Infiniti stopped releasing map updates for this generation years ago. The factory nav system uses a DVD-based or HDD-based map database that's permanently stuck in the past.

Why the Factory Nav Can't Be Updated

  • Map database discontinued — Infiniti/Nissan no longer publishes updates for the 2007-2015 G37's navigation system
  • DVD-based system — older G37s use physical map DVDs that are no longer produced
  • No smartphone integration — no CarPlay, no Android Auto, no way to use your phone's maps on the factory screen

Aftermarket Navigation Options

You have two paths:

Phone mount + Bluetooth

The free option. Use Google Maps or Waze on your phone with a dash mount. You lose the integrated look and have to manage a separate device.

G-Series Head Unit Replacement

The G-Series for Infiniti G37 replaces the factory screen with a vertical Android touchscreen. You get:

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto — use Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze on the built-in screen
  • Full Android with Google Play Store — install any navigation app
  • Offline maps via Google Maps or third-party apps
  • Built-in GPS receiver with included antenna
  • All factory features retained (steering wheel controls, backup camera, climate)

From $1,099 (Carbon Fiber finish) or $1,179 (Matte Black). Fits 2007-2015 G37 Sedan and Coupe.
